    The New Pet Parent Evening

    This course will be delivered face-to-face in our Veterinary Education Centre. We will cover a range of topics relevant to your pet’s health in their first year including:

    • Preventative health care – from vaccinations to parasite control
    • Exploring the importance of appropriate and balanced nutrition
    • The value of socialisation, training and puppy parties
    • Working with your vet and other professionals for happy and healthy pets 

    Intended learning outcomes:

    • Understand the basics of keeping your young pet healthy — from vaccinations and parasite control to regular check-ups.
    • Know how to choose the right food and feeding routine to support your puppy or kitten’s growth and development.
    • Appreciate why early socialisation, training, and play are so important for a happy, confident pet.
    • Pick up simple, practical tips to build good habits and a positive daily routine at home.
    • Feel more confident working with your vet and other pet professionals to give your new companion the best start in life.
    • Feel better equipped to make decisions for you and your pet based on your individual circumstances.
