This week is National Apprenticeship Week – and apprentices across the courses SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ offers have been having their say!
The University has more than 300 students who are studying on an apprenticeship route – across a diverse range of areas including land-based industries, the environment, food production, and veterinary sciences - all designed alongside leading employers and tailored to the skills each sector needs.
Catch up with how tour apprentices and partners have been marking the week with our social media and news roundup below.

During the week, we chatted with Elliot Mayes, whose apprenticeship combines his studies with a role with Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors and Auctioneers, .
He told us: “No two days are the same. As part of the Estate Management team, my day can range from property inspections, inventories and viewings to leading parts of client meetings, apply for grants, or compiling compensation claims and anything in-between.
“While I usually start the day with a plan, something often comes up that needs dealing with immediately, which keeps the role varied and fast-paced.”

Senior Lecturer in Soil and Water Management and Course Leader for Environment, Sustainability and Wildlife Dr Lucy Crockford to urge businesses to look into whether a Degree Apprentice would work for them.
She said: "Ever considered getting a Degree Apprentice but don't really know what it's all about and would like to know more? "Are you an employer in the environmental and/ or sustainability sectors?
"If you've answered yes to both of the above then you're in luck!
"We'll be holding our next Employers Information event online on Gebruary 26 at 3pm -hear from one of our excellent employers, Octavia Midgley at as well as find out about how our Environmental Practitioner programme is structured and how it can fit into your company or organisation.
"All you need to do is turn up...but if you can't, we'll send you a recording."

Later in the week we spoke to Leila Ashton, from Wigan, about her experience so far: "I’m currently in the third year of my Rural Chartered Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship with in Knutsford, where we specialise in utilities and infrastructure including large scale renewable energy projects including solar and wind, cable routes, British waterways, telecommunications and valuations.
“Every day is different as an apprentice. I mainly assist the Managing Director with her day-to-day work. This could consist of assisting with legal agreements, attending meetings with clients and landowners and site visits which could include doing GPS work, soil samples, boundary marking and cable route walks.
